The Formax ReadyWire Basic Punching and Binding Machine is a manual combination wire binding system for offices and organizations with low binding volumes. It is available in two models: the ReadyWire2B with a 2:1 pitch and the ReadyWire3B with a 3:1 pitch. Both models punch up to 12,000 sheets per hour and bind up to 200 booklets per hour. The 2:1 pitch model offers the most versatility, accommodating wire diameters from 1/4 inch to 1 1/4 inches for booklets up to 280 sheets, while the 3:1 pitch model uses wire diameters from 1/4 inch to 5/8 inch for booklets up to 135 sheets with a more refined finished look.

The ergonomic two-lever system provides smooth, quiet operation from punching to binding, and the low-force punch lever handles up to 20 sheets at a time. An onboard wire diameter guide with bold graphics helps operators choose the right wire size for each project, binding diameter is adjusted with a quick sliding guide, and the integrated wire comb holder allows easy paper positioning before binding. Wire-bound documents open a full 360 degrees and lay flat for easier reading, writing, scanning, and presentations, while double-loop wire binding keeps pages secure for a polished appearance through years of use. With compact, rugged metal construction, an adjustable paper stop, and an easy-empty sliding waste tray, the ReadyWire Basic produces professional wire bound booklets in a space-saving footprint.
